His latest IUD TCu 380 Ag is manufactured in three sizes Mini, Normal and Maxi. It is approved for sale in Canada, Europe, Brazil, Middle East Asia. It is a big success in terms of offering women an IUD with least menstrual disturbance, least side effects and almost nil expulsion rates. The Mini size is recommended for nulliparous and the Normal and Maxi sizes for multiparous women. This product is also known as the Silver IUD now available in Mini size which is a very good alternative with least side effects to nulliparous women on oral contraceptives. A large population of nulliparous women today are on oral hormonal contraceptives; this New IUD is an excellent cost effective alternative without any side effects seen which otherwise are seen with hormone based oral contraceptives. The incidence of infection in the New IUD is less because of the presence of Silver and Polyamide Monofilament Tie thread.
